We were looking for a solar/ battery system for our property last year. MW Solar were one of quite a few companies we approached for ideas and quotations. We already had in mind an idea of what we would like the system to achieve. After a while we got completely fed up with some other companies who just didn’t seem to listen to what we wanted and just wanted to fit a bog standard system that didn’t require approval from the grid. If we were going to invest in this we had to make sure it would be worth the investment. One other thing to note is that many of the other companies couldn’t/ wouldn’t tell us who would actually be installing it. I didn’t personally feel happy about this. If you join various forums you will see many poor installations by sub contractors of quite well known systems. I have a friend who used MW Solar for his installation and he was full of praise for the company. After making contact with them myself the first thing was that I felt listened to. Any queries I had, and there were quite a few ! were answered/ explained in a manner that I could understand so we decided to go ahead with them. The whole installation by MW Solar went well and we are very pleased with the end result. It’s about 3 months since our system (Sigenergy) was installed and the Gateway feature has proven it’s worth in the recent winter storm when we had a 3 day power cut but we still had an electricity supply :) . We are also definitely saving money on our bills even in winter so it will be interesting to see the total savings after 12 months. I’d definitely recommend MW Solar if your looking for a reliable installer.

I have no reluctance in recommending MW Solar. Mark, Owner, explained and quoted for three options explaining them very clearly. His costs were good and I am very satisfied with the installation. He has a great manner and is very approachable.

Excellent work from the team at MW Solar, after months of issues and many companies unable to sort, they have sorted and we are back up and running.

It’s fair to say that I was already convinced that a solar energy system would be a very good investment and it was on this basis that I approached three companies to see what they could offer. One was a large organisation operating nationwide, one was a smaller organisation covering the whole of the south west and, finally, MW Solar who had been recommended by a near neighbour. Most reputable companies providing solar systems probably offer good equipment but the key concern for me was the actual installation of the components. The nationwide company was very much “one size fits all” and I got the feeling that the equipment would be fitted by an anonymous crew in a way that made it easy for them. It didn’t seem possible to engage with anyone about the practicalities of the installation, most likely because the people on the end of the phone had probably never installed a system themselves. It was clear from the outset that MW Solar were in a different league to the larger companies. Mark Warden has a tremendous in-depth knowledge, not only of solar energy systems but of electrical installations and building work as well. He made several suggestions to improve the placement of the roof panels and arrive at the optimum positioning of the inverters and batteries. I think it is unlikely that the other two companies would have provided so much input to optimise the installation even supposing they had the ability. MW Solar installed a nominal 9 kW array of panels with two 4.9 kW Victron Charge controllers and two 5kW Victron inverters operating in parallel. Two BSL batteries provide a total storage capacity of 10.2 kWh. A fixed display panel by the inverters indicates the flow of power in real time, and gives access to all the system settings. Alternatively, I can monitor and control the system from my phone or iPad. The Victron system is very flexible and storage strategies can be easily changed. Recently, I have been keeping the batteries fully charged at all times to provide domestic back-up power in the event of a power cut. Very useful in a rural area where overhead power lines can be brought down by storms. Soon, I will switch back to using stored power at night to reduce power consumed from the grid. I am very pleased with the quality and professional look of the installation, which was completed within a week. Mark and his team were very focussed and efficient, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend MW Solar to anyone considering a solar energy system. The installation was commissioned at the end of July 2025 and I have been pleasantly surprised by how much power the system generates, even at dawn and approaching dusk. I just wish I had done this years ago!

Mark and Ben and Ash were superb. Professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Neat work, and helped with setting up the system and connecting to the energy supplier. Just so good.

Great service, installation and product. It was great meeting Mark and, from the outset, talking about what we would like and how he could give us what we wanted, manage the installation and options to expand if we wanted. He provided and accurate quote, scheduled the work to integrate with the other tradesmen that were working at our property and finished with all waste removed. After service is also great! I cannot recommend MW Solar highly enough.

Mark and his team were great from the 1st call to signing off. Always kept us informed about each process. We are very happy with their service and products supplied.

MW solar responded to the enquiry promptly and explained the options clearly. We went ahead with their their proposal and it was fitted within a few weeks. The team were friendly and efficient and it was good to know that Mark the owner was either on hand during the process or not far away. It was particularly good that during the recent storms when we were without grid power for 48 hours the battery and solar kept us going and we were affectively unaware of a power cut. The battery topped up during the day even though it was January. We have not had to pay for any electricity since installation in March and have a credit balance with Octupus energy. I think the payback will be quicker than first estimated.

We have used Mark at MW Solar a couple of times and had a good experience each time. On our last development we had an issue with getting solar panels indemnity for an urgent sale and Mark helped out to get the matter resolved quickly for us despite being away on holiday at the time. Highly recommend.

I can’t recommend this company highly enough. From start to finish, the whole experience was excellent. As a local business, they were professional, reliable, and genuinely cared about doing the job properly. Mark was always incredibly responsive to emails and questions, which made the whole process feel easy and reassuring. The installation was smooth, well organised, and completed to a very high standard. Everything was explained clearly, questions were answered honestly, and the team were friendly and respectful throughout. They also left the property clean and tidy, which was much appreciated. Having off-grid capability has been especially helpful during the recent storms and power cuts and really makes you realise how important it is to have that level of resilience. After being let down by another company contacted Mark for a quote for solar panels and batteries. Visited within a couple of days, quote within hours which was very acceptable and arrangements for installation within a month. They handled all the required paperwork and kept in touch. The team arrived on time and worked neatly and cleanly and finishing the work within 2 days despite the awful weather. Very approachable for any queries and problems (none so far) . Panels and batteries working better than expected for a wet and overcast November.

Having moved to a new home in Cornwall without mains gas in we were shocked by the very high and rapidly rising cost of electricity. Sharp action was needed to mitigate costs and, having little previous knowledge about solar, I initially contacted two national companies to enquire about solar installation. However, few things in life are a bigger “no-brainer” than our decision to eventually run with a totally friendly, reliable and well managed local firm, MW Solar based in Helston. Mark Warden couldn't have been easier to deal with or more professional. He explained everything very clearly, giving various options both in terms of how much solar we needed and how much battery power we could have. Eventually we decided to install 14 solar panels, a Solis 3.6kW Inverter and 2 x 4.8kWh Pylon batteries. The price quote was competitive and the MW Solar team is made up of experts who really care about their clients. The panels were mounted quickly using durable components and methods of anchoring, all properly wired to code, and the ongoing follow up once installed is invaluable. We now easily monitor our solar system via a mobile phone app that tells us every day how much electricity we have generated and consumed. Added advantage and savings are made during ever darkening days by charging our batteries overnight (4 hours) using off-peak electricity, which is a savings bonus keeping costs down. The entire process has been smooth, seamless, and convenient from initial meeting with Mark who explained the entire process, to installation and commissioning. We now have a great solar system provided by very professional people who completed the job efficiently, effectively and from start to finish to follow up they have been excellent. Mark and his team recently replaced our inverter and added a new battery to our existing solar system. They were very professional and efficient throughout the installation. Everything works brilliantly, and we immediately noticed the benefits of having a battery on our electricity bill, and this has continued through the summer and into autumn. MW Solar overall provided excellent service, with an honest consultation about likely performance figures, which meant we could work out expected savings. We decided to get the maximum number of panels on the roof as possible. The install was done in a timely manner, and completed within 3 days, with all aspects completed in a competent and tidy fashion. The system has been performing great with no issues, we are very happy that we decided to commit to a solar installation from MW Solar and would be happy to recommend to anybody.

Mark & his team were recommended to us, and I’m really pleased they were! We already had solar panels installed when we built our home 3yrs ago. However we were building to a strict budget and couldn’t stretch to battery storage at that time. Now we can and Mark came out, explained our options in such a way even I followed what we were being advised! Faultless from start to finish.. From the quote to installation took 3 weeks which far exceeded my expectations.. The install itself took 3 days in the most horrible weather. I asked for the wiring to stay exposed so that I could box them in myself which was done. Bingo... I was producing power, much more than I wanted and that's the reason I had 2 banks of batteries that see's me overnight and most of the morning before the sun hits the panels. The whole experience was as smooth as it gets, Mark gave me a few pointers on the inverter after the install and I have contacted him several times for advise and has answered after hours so I will give his customer service 10/10. So in a nut shell MW Solar gets the 10/10 award for the following:- Communication, Customer Service, Cleanliness, Trustworthiness (I left the keys for the house while at work), Goes above and beyond, Value for money... You get where I'm going with this.. I don't know if there are cheaper out there, I did have 3 quotes, MW Solar were cheaper but the reason I went with Mark was the positive verbal reviews I had from my own customers that I see in the plumbing trade. Just a pointer my last 3 electric bills have all been under £30. Yes Solar is expensive £11.5k for my set up but the way I look at it is that it has probably put £5k on the value of the house so with my calculations at today's climate it will take 5-6 years to pay itself off. Having shopped around for a solar panel system and not knowing enough about solar storage, I struggled to commit to investing a considerable amount of money in solar energy until I came across MW Solar. I arranged a meeting with Mark Warden of MW Solar and he explained all I needed to know about the various options I could purchase, including the one we agreed to. He quoted a very competitive price using quality materials and I accepted the quote after some research with confidence having every aspect explained and a fitting date was agreed. The team carried out the work effectively and efficiently in a very neat and tidy way. I was extremely impressed with the whole experience and the system is now living up to my expectations, it was certainly the right decision for me . Having a local company has the advantage of backing up the work effectively in the shortest possible time. Several of my friends have purchased a similar system to mine, supplied/installed by MW Solar and have all been equally delighted with the results. It is with ease that I can make a recommendation based on my own experience with MW Solar.

My experience with MW Solar Ltd was very positive, Mark carried out a survey and suggested the system which would best fit my requirements. His team carried out the installation with efficiency and humour. Over the period of this summer I have been generating on average 20KWH each day which more than meets my requirements. I am now going to be signing up with a supplier who will pay me for the surplus energy which is exported to the grid once my batteries are full.
