Waited three days for a sales person to call me. Was promised on a Friday I would be called. It's now Thursday and still waiting. Very poor. If that's an indication of their level of service then perhaps best to keep away. Such a shame. I had an installation put in last April by them and they were excellent.

I had a bathroom fan installed

I had a bathroom fan installed. Problems from start to finish. The fan has failed because it filled with water. The pipe is so long it just fills with water and comes back into the bathroom. They don't reply to emails and their phone line quality is poor. Not happy!

I have sent over 50=emails etc no reply

I have sent 35 emails, telephoned numerous occasions to obtain my handover documents for my heat pump installed last year, I was told a few weeks ago that they would be dispatched that day but still waiting. Absolutely no response to any of my calls or emails, something not right here Still had no reply now sent over 50 emails I am unsure of what to do now

I had my ASHP fitted a year ago. Whilst the engineers themselves are excellent and I think did a good job, the after sales care is very poor. I received poor advice on the number and size of radiators and returned several as there wasn't sufficient room in the house for them! It was agreed that I would be credited for these against future services but this seems to have been conveniently forgotten so I am now several hundred pounds out of pocket. I will of course pursue this, in court if necessary. I also now believe that I paid far more than average for the system; at the time I trusted the good name of the company but I think was taken advantage of. The previously reasonable customer care department has been outsourced to a call centre with telephone lines mostly engaged and no one with any clue on the end of the phone when you do get through. I do hope that Cotswold Energy read this and other reviews and do something to recover their good name.

Very poor after service : Had my ASHP fitted 3 years ago and I have been calling and emailing since mid September to book an annual service. No one returns my calls or emails and I am told that I am on the list to be seen. Still no call back from anyone. If I could go to someone else to get it serviced I would but feel that for warranties to be valid I am stuck with Cotswold. They used to be a very good company, sadly not anymore . Very frustrating.

I had my solar fitted in January and…

I had my solar fitted in January and waited until now to leave a review. The company were brilliant even though I got a grant via the Eco scheme the work that was completed was to a high standard. I had one small problem when I had a power cut but otherwise this summer has been brilliant and I’m impressed with the whole system. The girls in the office were brill and handled any questions and arranging skips to the scaffolding. Ben came out to survey my property then it took a couple of days to install and all paper work completed. The whole team worked hard and Dan the electrical installer moved some of the wiring so that I wasn’t seen, nothing was too much trouble for him. All in all a very postive experience from start to finish. I would 💯% recommend this company. Thanks to you all once again.

We are still waiting for solar panels…

We are still waiting for solar panels to be connected 6/7 weeks after initial installation (amongst other issues). Very poor service with very slow replies to any correspondence. Not happy.

POOR AFTERCARE AND RESOLUTION SYSTEM

Had a solar system installed. Errors on certificates from cotswold energy meant I was unable to set up my export tarrif meaning money lost. Very poor service , slow replies ( 4+weeks between each message) 7 months on and still unresolved. They just keep telling me they are waiting to hear from management. AVOID THIS COMPANY !

Disgustingly poor after care. Error on certificates meant we couldn't register for a solar tarrif for months. 7 months later the issue is still unresolved and contacting anybody is just a case of being passed from pillar to post. 4+weeks between emails with staff who clearly have no clue on solar systems. Avoid !

Heat Pump Servicing

We had a 5 star service from CEG when they installed our ASHP four years ago. This was repeated with excellent service 2 years ago when we had it serviced. On both occasions the work went well and all communications were good. That appears to have changed, as I have now phoned their managed phone service 3 times to request a service, and have not had a call back despite being assured that this will happen. Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch and they'll get their customer service back on track....

Shockingly bad

I was awarded ECO4 funding in April 2024 & this company was supposed to supply & install the equipment. 18 months later & I still have nothing & nobody is answering my email requests for updates. No co tact since July. Shocking. Avoid like the plague.

After five months of being messed about and given the runaround, I eventually cancelled my order for solar panels from Cotswold Energy, which had been arranged through ScottishPower who refunded me my deposit and were very apologetic.

I can't recommend Cotswold Energy enough. Extremely professional, knowledable staff. Very efficient and very quick. Nothing seemed to be unsurpassable .despite the job being about 240 miles away from base. Very focused on the aims of the work, that is the ground staff... Billy, Charlie, Ethan, Ollie, Steve and Toby. All hard working, polite, friendly and courteous. They always explained their plan and what they would do next. The office staff were always at hand to answer my questions and for the necessary paperwork. Really good communications either customer services or on the technical side. Thank you Helen. I really can't recommend Cotswold Energy enough. Im so glad I chose them from my options at the beginning.

ASHP system instal from scratch

Just had a ASHP system installed from scratch. Harry & Ry who are obviously overworked and underpaid did a fantastic job and kept the disruption to a minimum even thought hey had to remove carpets and floorboards to install the radiators. I can't praise them highly enough & they even left me a bit of artwork to remember them by. Only downside was they disconnected the filling loop, but I quickly reconnected it when they left Highly recommended

We recently had loft insulation, solar panels and storage heaters fitted by Coltwold Energy Group.The worker that installed the loft insulation was very polite kept every thing clean and tidy. The workers that installed the solar panels were very professional and a hardworking team. Jack and Dan who installed the storage heaters went above and beyond to sort out any problems that occurred and done an excellent job also Calum who called by after it was all finished to go through the install with us . Would like to thank you all.

Hopeless aftercare. Fitted a heatpump system under ECO4 scheme last year. Intermittent fault with pump controller left house with no heating in January and still chasing repair. Emails ignored and fobbed-off on the telephone for months now. Have a warranty on paper, but not in practice. Wish we'd kept the storage heaters, far less hassle.

Cotswold Energy installation of New boiler system.

Cotswold Energy have just finished installing a complete new boiler system. I am so pleased with the work and the professional way the staff dealt with everything. Matt and Archie arrived exactly on time at 8am every morning and worked so hard especially as it was hot in the loft. Everything was explained to me at every stage. On completion the system was explained thoroughly to me and everything was cleared away and left clean and tidy. I would recommend without hesitation.

We recently had a heat pump system, Solar Panels with Battery, installed by Cotswold Energy Group, and the entire experience was absolutely top-notch from start to finish. The whole team was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout the process. They took the time to explain every step, answered all of our questions, and made sure we felt comfortable with our choices. Installation was smooth and efficient, and the engineers were respectful of our home and left everything tidy. Most importantly, the system is working brilliantly – our home is warm, producing lots of free energy from the solar panels and we’ve already noticed a drop in our energy usage. We had a complete new heating system…

We had a complete new heating system fitted, including an air source heat pump and solar panels plus radiators and pipework, we were a bit nervous because we've never had so much work done before in our 40years together. Well, it was really nice to have hardworking people to do all that was needed, can't fault anything or anyone, they have such a nice group of employees.

ECO4 Grant Installation

What a brilliant team! Over 4 days I had electric heaters, electric vents and solar panels fitted through the ECO4 grant scheme. Brad and his team were very polite, kept everything clean and tidy and found solutions to any problems that came up. Everything was planned carefully and I was kept informed at every stage. All teams were co-ordinated well and turned up on time and tidied up each day before leaving. The worker that installed the loft insulation again was polite and efficient as were the two who were responsible for the cavity wall insulation and the worker who installed the solar panels. Cotswold Energy planned and co-ordinated everything very efficiently. Thank you so much.

I have recently had an amazing upgrade…

I have recently had an amazing upgrade to my storage heaters along with solar panels being installed. Everything was planned by Cotswold Energy with excellent communication to me throughout. Richard and Bailey came to do the installations. The work was completed to a high standard and Richard went through everything with me to ensure I was confident on setting the new heaters. They were very tidy inside and outside of the house so nothing left for me to clear up. My experience throughout with Cotswold Energy has been excellent and I would highly recommend them.

Excellent Company

We are EON customers and because they were one of the most reasonably priced quotes we decided to go with them for changing from Gas to a heat pump. Fortunately for us they used Cotswold Energy. From the very start we were impressed with their customer service, knowledge, expertise and positive problem solving. The surveyors, Syd and Bronwen were very thorough and managed to come up with a solution to designing us a system that would suit our property without losing valuable storage space and also look good. The team that carried out the installation were also excellent. Harry and Ryan worked incredibly hard. They were able to solve any problems that arose, left everything clean and tidy at the end of the day and were very respectful of us and our property. We're extremely pleased with the heat pump, the radiators and hot water are hotter than we expected and it's really not noisy when running.

Cotswold Energy Group recently installed solar panels and replaced old storage heaters and insulation on our property with new efficient models . All the work was done quickly and we were left with a clean house which is warmer and uses less energy. It was a good and efficient service that we were very pleased with and can recommend .

Recently had 10 solar panels and 2 batteries installed by CEG to supplement 10 grant funded panels previously installed via Stroud CC. This turned out to be complex and I got different advice from other companies. James was very committed and helpful navigating us through this patiently explaining options throughout. Lloyd and the team were excellent installing everything under stragegic guidance from Lawrence ensuring everything went to plan. All delivered on time and good value especially as high wattage panels fitted and system integrated with our Heat Pump also from CEG. System has been working well since installation, very satisfied, would highly recommend.

Really impressed with the service from all at Cotswold Energy Group. They explained the process in clear terms and provided a detailed quote. I was incredibly impressed with how responsive the team were and how quickly they were able to provide an installation. The site team were friendly, professional and finished the job quickly. Cotswold Energy Installed our Air Source Sump last year connecting it to existing underfloor heating and radiators and replacing our old hot water tank. From start to finish Tom and his staff were professional designing and specifying an installation which has proven to be excellent, providing us with a lovely warm house. The specification has proved to be perfect with the installation carried out professionally on time and budget. Twelve months on Cotswold Energy have just carried out our annual service to the same high standards. We can thoroughly recommend Cotswold Group.

Cotswold Energy Group installed our system a few years back and with everything happening with energy nowadays, what a great decision we made. We are quietly smiling at everyone with massive monthly bills and now have a great heating system. The whole project by CGG was professional and they delivered a fantastic green solution that with our solar panels and battery we are very happy.

It’s the first time I’ve left a negative review for a company, which I do not do lightly. However, we had such a poor experience with Cotswold Energy I feel obligated to warn others. We entered into a contract with Cotswold Energy to supply and install an air source heat pump and underfloor heating system at our property. The positive reviews were one of the reasons we decided to employ Cotswold Energy but unfortunately we were severely let down by their capabilities and attitude. There were changes in key staff involved with our project with apparently no handover as we received conflicting information from different colleagues regarding details of our project. Problems were exacerbated by the fact that they employed a subcontractor for an important aspect of the work. We did not receive any written plans of the system or any written specifications for the expected preparatory work. The assigned project manager - who was also one of the company directors - did not appear to have any detailed knowledge about the specifics of our job and seemed unaware of aspects that we had discussed with other colleagues. He seemed to rely on the guidance of their unreliable subcontractor for direction. The situation led to a disagreement between us and ultimately we had to employ a new company to complete the work. The attitude of the management in dealing with our complaints was dismissive, rude and unhelpful. The company was unwilling to admit any fault and continually tried to shift blame for their mistakes onto us, despite the fact that they had failed to adhere to the renewable energy consumer code and the agreed contract. Our experience with Cotswold Energy has caused us unnecessary stress and delays and we would strongly advise anyone looking to install a renewable heating system to avoid this company.

We have just had our electric boilers replaced by Cotswold Energy with Air Source Heating. The project went really well, from our initial contact with Zoe and Robin last summer up to Simon the Project Managers input over the past few days. Sam and Josh were absolutely brilliant they arrived on time and worked so hard to get us up and running as quick as possible. They treated us and our home with respect and were courteous at all times. They were happy to explain their procedures and answered our questions as they went along. At the end of the day their cleaned up and hoovered, leaving the house neat and tidy. Support was given for all the necessary documentation to be completed, which was really helpful. Cotswold Energy were one of three companies that we contacted for quotes. We definitely made the right decision, and I would recommend their service as second to none. Just an update on aftercare service as now had heat pump for 18 months - Cotswold continued to be on hand for queries on Melcloud App along with query on pressure on system. Sam happily popped over to check all in order and explained what I need to look out for moving forward. Definitely made the right decision to go with CHC

Our ASHP was installed last year by Cotswold Energy. They were extremely efficient, always available for advice and the installation was very professionally completed. This was despite the problems surrounding our project - we had a rogue and completely incompetent general builder who made life extremely difficult for all concerned, however Arran and his team coped with all the resultant problems in a sympathetic and very helpful manner. Our ASHP has worked well for the last 12months. I would have no hesitation in recommending CEG to anybody who is thinking of installing a heat pump

I decided to convert from an oil fired boiler to ASHP last April using the Green Homes government grant. CEG helped me through the application process; someone was always available at the end of the phone to answer queries. The installation ran smoothly and was completed to schedule by a very professional and pleasant installation team. The after service has also been excellent. I recently reported an error code and lack of hot water and CEG sent an engineer within 2 days who explained the problem in simple terms that I could understand. He also showed me how I could raise the water pressure myself if I chose to do so.

Replacement Heat Pump. Our 11 year old heat pump had failed and replacement parts were not available so we were without heating in March. CEG provided a good price compared to other suppliers and were also able to offer me the air source heat pump that I wanted "off the shelf" due to another customer having just changed their mind on system size. Installation was 2 weeks later and completed very neatly in less than a day. We now have a more controllable system that keeps us warmer than the previous ASHP. A year later we haven't had any problems at all.

Good System but poor communications The air source heat pump and heating alterations installed by Cotswold Energy are generally working well but there were a number of issues, largely down to very poor internal communications, which mean that the system is not ideal. Lack of communication between the survey team and the installers has meant that the pump could not be located where originally planned and a significant amount of ugly external piping has been left on show. During the installation, quite a number of minor snags had to be rectified at later visits and workmen regularly turned up not at the time booked or not at all. Since installation the system appears to work well apart from the holiday function which was reported not working in January and is still awaiting rectification.

Early in 2021 we decided to get rid of our aging biomass boiler for an Air Source Heat Pump. We contacted several companies and got 2 quotes. Cotswold Energy were similar in price, but the technical knowledge that Zoe & Simon showed on their first visit to quote gave us confidence that they were the firm to go with, especially as the system we needed wasn't straightforward. (Worth noting that I design commercial heating systems so I can tell when someone doesn't know what they're talking about with a heating system!). Zoe kept us up to date throughout the whole process, and during the installation the site team were a pleasure to have around. On the whole they kept things clean and tidy, the only issue being brick dust from core drilling through an outside wall, but that was understandable. The ASHP was installed in September 2021, so we've now had a full winter of it providing our heating. It works very well, keeping our house (part new, part circa 1905) warm and at a stable temperature. I've recommended Cotswold Energy to several friends - we're really pleased with the installation & the system.

Cotswold Energy have been a pleasure to deal with from day 1 and have installed an ASHP whose performance has exceeded my expectations. I have been impressed with the fact that a real person answers the phone and that I have been able to talk to the relevant person directly. The installation was done very neatly and Cotswold have led me through all the necessary paperwork needed for RHI registration. When a meter failed and stopped the heat pump working they replaced it on the same day that I contacted them.

We had a failing 25 year old gas boiler and wanted to go for a green option and decided to get an Air Source Heat Pump. We'd only done modest retrofit measures - loft insulation and draught measures for doors and windows because the house is Listed. We selected Cotswold Energy Group, who did a thorough survey, analysis and proposal. Despite living in an old house, there was very little disruption - the installers were excellent. We were also helped with our paperwork (grant application). We have had excellent post installation hand-holding as we got to know the system, and now just let it do its thing. Despite it being a 200 years old Listed Building with solid walls, the system has performed very well, as per the design and specification. We are very pleased with it.
